About Me

Hi, I’m Kate Goldsmith—mom, behavior analyst, educator, and founder of Rooted and Rising Behavioral Support.

I’ve been working with children and families for over 15 years, helping to support growth in ways that feel meaningful, manageable, and rooted in real life. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis from Columbia University Teachers College, and I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Licensed in New York State. I’m also a certified teacher in both general and special education (Birth–Grade 6) and spent the start of my career in the classroom, teaching preschool and elementary school.

Over the years, I’ve worked in homes, schools, and communities across the country with children from toddlerhood through the teen years. My focus has always been on creating individualized, compassionate, and family-centered support—whether that means building social and communication skills, navigating sleep or potty training, or helping a child feel more confident and connected in their world.

As a parent myself, I understand how overwhelming things can feel when your child is struggling. That’s why my approach is always practical, hands-on, and grounded in play and patience. My goal is to walk alongside you with support that feels empowering, not stressful.

Rooted and Rising was created with one mission in mind: to help families grow stronger, together.

In my downtime, you can find me exploring a nature trail, biking, or cooking!

Rooted and Rising is built on the values I hold close: connection, compassion, patience, and practical, family-centered support that meets each child where they are.
